Boston Micromachines Corporation is implementing a new MRP system, and is seeking an Inventory Control and Planning Manager to lead this project and to manage the system after rollout.
The specific job responsibilities will depend on the candidate’s experience and skill set, but will include:
-Work with team to update/restructure part numbers and BOMs for all product lines
-Develop and implement inventory control procedures. Create, write, or revise departmental procedures as needed for all stages of production process including purchasing, receiving, inventory storage and tracking, production orders, tracking WIP, shipping, and backflushing sales order records
-Maintain inventory records, process physical inventory counts, investigate variances and perform reconciliations as required
-Responsible for inventory planning, including setting and revising of safety stock and reorder levels, monitoring vendor and sales lead times and turnover times. Initiate in improvements and cost reduction programs to increase efficiency as needed.
-Process engineering changes/new part releases as they pertain to inventory
-Conduct annual review of inventory asset accounts
The job may also include:
-Vendor relationship management
-Generate special and periodic reports as required or directed
-Assist in Shipping/Receiving when necessary
-Review documents and data. Assist in documentation control as necessary.
The ideal candidate will have:
-Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with specialized experience in inventory control
-Familiarity with Fishbowl or other MRP software capabilities
-Outstanding attention to detail
-Outstanding ability to follow through on all tasks and commitments
-Strong ability to multitask
-Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with individuals at all levels of the company
-Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
