Deformable mirror yields clearer view of retina

Boston Micromachines Corp., which provides MEMS-based deformable mirror products for adaptive optics systems, has created an enhanced deformable mirror for ultra-high-resolution retinal imaging.

The new mirror will meet the requirements for original equipment manufacturer retinal imaging systems, as well as vision science and microscopy researchers using adaptive optics for biological imaging, according to the company.

The mirror corrects for wavefront aberration, allowing physicians to obtain a clear view of the retina. It is an enhanced version of the company's flagship product, the Multi-DM.
